We're Moving!

Over the last several years, the needs of our community have grown to exceed the space available to us at 817/821 Livernois. Thanks to increasing rates of owner surrender, frequent incidents of abandonment, and the proliferation of kittens born outside, our small Catfé has quickly become overwhelmed.

In October 2022, an opportunity arose for Ferndale Cat Shelter to purchase a much larger building located at 686 Livernois. With more than quadruple the square footage of our old space, this new spot offers a way for us to meet the growing demands of our community while keeping the cats in our care comfortable, safe, and happy.

We Need Your Assistance

As we look to re-locate by year’s end, we are met with a seemingly endless list of repairs and renovations to complete, including:

  • Furnace repair
  • Electrical work
  • Carpentry
  • Window and door replacements
  • Plumbing work

Ferndale Cat Shelter is a 501(c)3 non-profit that receives no government funding. That means we are entirely reliant on donations from our community in order to make these renovations happen! Can you help us open a bigger, better shelter by contributing to our fundraiser? Even small donations go a long way. Can’t donate, but want to pitch in? We are in need of volunteers to help with moving, painting, and handy work.
