Adopt a Cat from The Catfé Lounge

Thank you for your interest in adopting from The Catfé Lounge and Ferndale Cat Shelter! If you’re looking to adopt a cat, many of the kitties at the Catfé are available. As a part of the Ferndale Cat Shelter, we also have many cats not featured at the Catfé that are in need of loving homes. You can find a list of cats available for adoption below on this page.

The well-being and care of our animals is our top priority. Rising costs, along with increases in intake and community outreach, require us to better align our fees with our operating costs. The addition of the Microchip Registration Fee reflects our commitment to ensuring that every animal receives the necessary care, including food, medical attention, and shelter, while we work to find them their forever homes.

Adoption Fee:

  • $175 for kittens under 1 year or $300 for a pair of kittens.
  • $150 for cats older than one year or $250 for a pair of adult cats.

Your Adoption Fee includes spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, and basic wellness care including de-worming and flea control. Please note that all adoption deposits and fees are non-refundable, and we do not give away cats or kittens free of cost.

Microchip Registration Fee:

One-time fee of $13 that follows the cat for the duration of its life, and can be amended to location changes.

A microchip is not a GPS locator. When a pet is microchipped, it requires a registration to link that pet to an owner. When a lost pet is scanned, it only shows the microchip number. Without registration to the owner, in the event of accidental separation, it is virtually impossible to reconnect a lost pet with its owner. We require registering the adopter as the primary contact and Ferndale Cat Shelter as the secondary contact on record.
