The Ferndale Cat Shelter’s Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program was created to improve the lives of feral cats in the Ferndale area and to stabilize the population of cats in the community. TNR is a humane approach to addressing the feral cat population in Metro Detroit, and TNR programs have proven to be effective. TNR helps to prevent the death of feral-born kittens, addresses community complaints and concerns about cats, and helps temper the breeding cycle.
The Ferndale Cat Shelter’s TNR program is available to residents and business in Ferndale. Our TNR program has two elements: the actual TNR of community cats, as well as building shelters for the cats. We always appreciate item and monetary donations to help support ongoing TNR efforts in our community.
